I am an attorney with particular experience in aviation (civil and military), insurance, contracting (government and commercial), dispute resolution, and military law. Currently, I serve as In-House Counsel for FlightAware, LLC, the leading provider of flight tracking data and data services to the aviation industry. My work here generally involves contracting, licensing, corporate governance, intellectual property protection, and risk management. As an advocate, I have handled a wide variety of regulatory disputes at agency level, tried dozens of cases in federal and state courts, and have protected trial court wins on appeal. I'm a certified mediator, and a former military trial and appellate judge. I have represented the US government, criminal defendants and civil litigants at trial. I have extensive practical experience providing legal services at the highest levels, from corporate boards to military general staffs. In private practice and government service, I have investigated matters including labor and employment disputes, fraud allegations, and aviation accidents (and I am a military-trained aviation safety officer and accident investigator).
